The Full Story

GH Sands Construction is led by owner and project manager Greg Sands, a seasoned construction professional with more than 35 years of industry experience and a long-standing reputation for exceptional custom home building and luxury renovations in the Vail Valley. A local resident since 1998, Greg brings deep regional knowledge, trusted relationships, and a commitment to craftsmanship that defines every GH Sands project.

Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Greg graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College before beginning his career as a construction manager for a boutique custom home builder in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. His relocation to Edwards, Colorado in 1998 marked the start of a decades-long career focused on high-end residential construction in Colorado’s mountain resort communities.

Greg’s background spans both luxury residential and commercial construction, with extensive experience managing projects throughout Vail, Edwards, Beaver Creek, and surrounding Eagle County communities. In 2004, he joined Resort Concepts, where he spent 16 years as Director of Construction, overseeing all aspects of custom home building and high-quality renovations. During this time, Greg played a leadership role in the construction of more than 200 luxury homes in premier neighborhoods including Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, Beaver Creek, Mountain Star, Cordillera, Red Sky Ranch, Lake Creek, and Vail.

In 2020, Greg expanded his expertise by joining The Cumming Group, a global construction consulting firm, where he served as an owner’s representative for complex residential, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare projects. While the consulting role broadened his perspective, Greg ultimately returned to hands-on building—where direct collaboration, accountability, and craftsmanship are paramount.

In early 2024, Greg founded GH Sands Construction, a locally owned general contracting company specializing in custom homes and high-end residential renovations throughout the Vail Valley and Eagle County. Today, the GH Sands team includes dedicated project management and field supervision, with Greg personally leading preconstruction planning and guiding projects with an unwavering focus on quality, communication, and integrity.
